Life is about having fun so what am i doing.......I AM ON NOTTINGHAM NO 1 STATION 97.5 KEMET FM i play on a SATURDAY NIGHT 6pm -8pm WITH THE LOCK DOWN SHOW playing the best in URBAN music with the show i call THE LOCKDOWN SHOW,
Silky D started djing at the age of 8 yrs old in his home town of Nottingham, with his father, as a Dancehall and Reggae Dj at the Acna centre, St Anns, Nottingham.

At the age of 16, he got his first play at the Gregory Pub, djing along side Daddy B playing a small Dancehall and R&B set under the name of Blade International.
At the same time, he had joined Daddy B on a Sunday on a pirate radio station named, Heatwave, where he played a 15minute live mix.
After a short time playing alongside Daddy B, Dj Silky D or Blade International at that time got his own night at the Gregory, due to a high demand and interest in his mixing abilities, which he picked up over the years with a little help from Dj Mega, who was apart of a Big Sound called ‘New Celebrity’.
Under the name of Blade International, he joined another pirate radio station, Unique FM playing a Dancehall set one night a week.
A year down the line Silky D, (Blade International) joined Freeze FM, which was also known as, Switch FM. He had a Saturday daytime show, from 12-2pm, playing everything from Hip-hop to R&B from Garage to Dancehall, entertaining his listeners with his remix skills on the deck and hosting the top 10 Urban Chart for the station.
Grabbing the attention of Wiley’s promoter whilst djing on Freeze FM, he got the opportunity to play alongside, Robbo Ranks, Rampage, DJ Target amongst others for Wiley’s Birthday Bash in 2002 at Isis Night club in Nottingham.
Shortly after, he joined Ministry of Sound were he played for a number of nights at the Palais Night Club, completing warm up sets for D-Double E, The Dream Team and Dj EZ to name a few.

For 2009/2010 i have DJ WORLDWIDE ABROAD in such places like MARMARUS, IN TURKEY B52 BAR & SPAIN

As the music world changed, Blade International kept up-to date with the music industry, expanding his knowledge into further music genre’s, encouraging him to change his name to Silky D, a more friendly and current name that people can react too and associate with..
He then joined a number of mailing lists and street teams, such as Atlantic Street Team, Sony, Virgin, Play centre, Hardzone and Vision amongst others, as well as writing reviews and personal chart listings weekly. These helped him to remain a step a head of the game, as well as becoming more recognized up and down the country.
Silky D as met a number of Stars, such as Dmx, Beenieman and Adeana Howard to name a few due to travelling up and down the country being invited to events and private showings.

Silky D is currently on 97.5 Kemet Fm, playing SATURDAY NIGHT 6pm -8pm WITH THE LOCK DOWN SHOW ON 97.5 KEMET FM.’. He plays the latest in urban music, from R&B to Funky House, as well as Interviews with up and coming Artists, DJ’s and Pro
