About Corinna Joy

Although Corinna started playing piano at age 5 and writing music before she was 10, it would be almost two decades before she started performing her original music out in the world. Through a turbulent few years of personal ups and downs, Corinna found an outlet in her songwriting, leading to the release of her first EP, Uneven Love (2015), followed by a full-length album, Borne Back (2016), both of which she produced and released independently.

Her first EP, Uneven Love, was filled with pop ballads and featured a clunky clavinova. Its limited release makes it hard to find, but tracks like "Trent the Beautiful Bartender" put her storytelling, sassy songwriting on the map. Her sophomore release, Borne Back, took on a darker, more dramatic tone. Songs like "Haunted" and "Little Miss Know-It-All" show off the theatrical and the thoughtful quality of her lyrics, while quirky tracks like "Monday Lover" balance out the moody ballads with sweet, piano-driven pop.

Once she started performing, Corinna's life fell into rhythm. In her own words, "I feel like once I was doing what I was supposed to be doing... the right people entered my life."

For the last two plus years, Corinna has been working on her third album, "Wisely and Slow," in the newly built Soundsalt Studios with the help of her partner in business and in life, Chris Jackson. The title of the album is taken from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, when the Friar counsels a hasty young Romeo, “Wisely and slow. They stumble that run fast.” In the more than two years since the release of her first full-length album, Corinna has taken her time, crafting an expansive project that ranges from big, declarative, full-band songs, to intimate, stripped down piano-and-vocal tracks. The release date for the album has not yet been set.

Corinna has been featured on LNP + LancasterOnline, WITF Music, abc27's Good Day PA, and the PennLive Soundcheck.
