About Ghost Pressure

“Established in September 2014, Ghost Pressure (Nicholas Post (Guitarist, Vocals), Lauren Diehlmann (Vocals), Dave Hodgkinson (Guitar, Vocals), Nicholas Femister (Bass), and Karina McMahon (Drums) exudes an alternative rock sound and lyrical aesthetic derived from two inherent desires: genuine collaboration and more appreciation for the presence of adversity in human living.

Releasing their debut EP, Chance, in early 2016, to a mass audience at Long Island, NY hotspot, the Brickhouse Brewery, opportunity came knocking quickly thereafter with an intimate show in the Philadelphia scene. This lead to a new and devoted following – eventually becoming a second home for the band.

Ghost Pressure has since taken on a new dimension of collaboration with the addition of vocalist, Lauren Diehlmann (Killer Wails, Ninja Tree House). The group found themselves writing music that was taking on more intricate character and Diehlmann’s vocal flexibility, along with her affinity for polyphonic songwriting, made her a perfect match. Now delivering a more expansive sound with a new sonic blend akin to that of Wolf Alice, Warpaint, and Metric, Ghost Pressure’s outward style has gained another facet of listener accessibility, while retaining the fundamental spirit of its original artistry.

Looking to the future with a motivated energy that projects nothing but cohesion and self-assuredness, new material and an enthusiasm for visual media – highlighted most recently with an entry in NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Contest – give Ghost Pressure plenty to promote, and plenty for fans to expect, just in time for the rise of 2017’s touring and festival season.”
