About Hunter Rea Band
The Hunter Rea Band got their start in Belton, Texas where lead singer Hunter Glaske and drummer Adam Rea met while playing football at The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. In 2010, their friendship turned into a musical partnership when they began writing and playing some local shows. They spent the majority of their college years developing their writing style while pulling some of their musical influence from Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott and Stoney LaRue; all heavy hitters in the Texas Music scene. One thing they were certain is that they wanted a different sound; infusing Americana Roots in with their Texas Country they found a unique sound destined to set them apart in the scene. With the help of friends John Allen Davidson and John Paul Keller and a garage space turned rehearsal room, the Hunter Rea Band was starting to take shape.
In 2014 they recorded their first single “Sweet Virginia” and followed that up with the release of their first EP, “Worrying Kind”. During the recording process they added friend and fellow singer/songwriter Adam Fischer on lead guitar and harmony vocals, which helped add experience and soulful grit to their songwriting. After the release of “Worrying Kind”, the band added Austin Hodges on lead guitar and Matt Boden on bass, to help add depth to the young group.
The past year, The Hunter Rea Band has seem immense growth musically which has landed them the opportunity to compete in the final round of 95.9 The Ranch’s Ranch Factor competition as well as an invite to the Larry Joe Taylor Fest Singer/Songwriter competition in Stephenville.
2015 is shaping up to be a big year for these young musicians as they prepare to branch out through the state and put their unique style of music in front of more and more fans.
