About Pistol Pete

Pistol Pete has created a fresh sound in the last three years with his remixes of top hip-hop artists such as Clipse, Crime Mob, Ghostface, and Dead Prez. Born just outside of Chicago, Pete grew up on the Golden Era of Hip-Hop of the late 80s. However, not afraid to push the BPMs into the stratosphere, Pete's remixes take on all aspects of hip-hop and dance music including Hip-House, Acid, Juke, 8bit, and sample based beats. Pistol Pete's killer first white label in 2004 garnered praise and support from the likes of Fluxblog, Catchdubs, Turntable Lab, and Beats in Space. Most recently, Pistol Pete was picked as 2007 URB Magazine's “Next 100” artists to watch, who defines his remixes of Clipse's “Wamp Wamp” and Ghostface's “Run” as “skirting normality in favor of bizarre sounds to form bangin' beats.”

Currently, Pistol Pete has been recruited by indie and major record labels to remix some of their top artists. Pete is also on the heels of debuting his first original single “Make 'em Pop/ Care Bears on Crack” which was released on Vicious Pop Digital in September 2007.
