About The Mr. T Experience
The Mr. T Experience are a pop-punk band from Berkeley, California who formed in the 1980s. Taking their name from professional wrestler, bouncer-turned-actor and television personality Mr. T, their lyrics are often of a comedic, satirical, or romantic nature. They emerged from the Gilman Street Project/Lookout! Records punk-pop scene that also produced other notable acts, such as Green Day and Operation Ivy.
With nearly each album, however, their lineup has continually shifted -- with front man Dr. Frank (real name Frank Portman) now remaining as the only original member of the group. MTX are also best known for introducing just about every live song with the line, "This is a song about a girl...".
Their most recent album, "Yesterday Rules", was released in 2004.
