About Bare Traps
In a desperate attempt to avoid ‘real work’ – and in one individual’s case, to avoid capture – the four members of Bare Traps fled to the bright lights of the big city. In our great nation’s capital, meeting at the dankest end of the Bakerloo Line, they vowed to transcend their monotonous lives by selling their souls in exchange for sonic sorcery. These sorcerers combined sun-drenched mathy guitar hooks, African rhythms, stinky grooves, a touch of the tropics, and them beats-to-make-you-move-ya-feet, resulting in an intoxicating alt-pop cocktail. At the end of 2016 they made the joint decision to become rock stars and have been living that delusion ever since.
Soon after Bare Traps formed, the almighty Beeb invited the young men to get their ditties out for the public to admire. With multiple BBC Introducing performances, and a live radio session under their collective belt, Bare Traps enjoy regular championing by numerous regional DJs, as well as Tom Robinson on BBC Radio 6 Music. 2017 saw the lads ascend (in their own minds) to the heights of festival rock gods, with performances at The Great Escape and Fieldview. True to form, once they’d played an electric set at Sundown Festival, their rock star delusion saw them blag their way side of stage during Craig David’s performance, and after removing their trousers and underwear, were promptly escorted away by security. Whether you hear their name on the radio or on the news, they'll be a household name soon enough.
