The Sophies

One day a young hopeful (Sammy Sophie) put out an ad on Craig's list seeking fellow female musicians to fulfill a long dream of putting together an all-girl band. She received responses from a shoegaze-loving guitarist /vocalist (Haley Sophie) and an electronic/Radiohead crazy drummer (Lacey Sophie). Not long before that, Lacey Sophie had answered the ad of the one who would become Kelli Sophie seeking musicians to back up her own music. Soon Kelli Sophie joined the Sophies on the bass and the Sophies were born!

Why did they decide on "the Sophies"? Well, that's another story, but a large part of that is that Sophie means "knowledge" or "wisdom." The Sophies are curious creatures seeking knowledge, asking why, and never accepting "just because." We are golden gadflies singing questions. We are...
