About Within Reach

After a self-financed EP and three releases on the Burning Heart/Sidekicks label, Within Reach decided it was time to move on and in September -99 they entered Studio Soundlab together with Mathias (from Millencolin) and Mieszko (from Nasum) to record their first album for us. The result was "Fall From Grace", a record that takes their music into previously unexplored territories.

While their previous releases focus mainly on old school hardcore this new effort is a lot heavier, almost like a mix of their previous sound and Entombed style metal. The response from fans, radio stations and magazines that have heard their two songs on the "This is Bad Taste vol.3" sampler has been incredible to say the least!

Within Reach was formed in Arboga in the beginning of 1996 with a line-up consisting of Magnus T, Björn H, Magnus B and Jocke E. Robin was added to the line-up in June '98. Most of them had previously played together in the local bands Passage 4 and Lifeless Image (both with records out on Wounded Records), but when forming Within Reach the main influences were from bands such as Black Flag, Poison Idea, Sick of it All and Chain of Strength.

After the self-released "The Light Will Return" EP they released three records on Burning Heart/Sidekicks - the "Something's Not Right" MCD, the "Strength Through Diversity" CD and the "Reconsider/Reconstruct" MCD. The Polish label Shing Industries also released a cassette version of all the BHR/Sidekicks releases as well as a Within Reach split 7" with the legendary Polish hardcore band 1125. It has already been confirmed that the new album "Fall From Grace" will be released on license in Spain through Locomotive Music.

Over the last couple of years, they have also been featured on several major compilations such as Stronger Than Ever, Cheap Shots vol.3, Still Screaming (all on Burning Heart), Cheap Shots America (Epitaph), Area 51 (I Scream/Victory) etc.

During the Burning Heart era they only did a weeklong tour of Poland and a five-day tour of Spain. Now all that will change though, as both the band and we are determined to get them out on the road more frequently. So far they have already played 12 dates on the Bad Taste tour last fall, the fifth annual Bad Taste festival here in Lund and during spring they toured Europe for three weeks. These shows included an amazing appearance at the Groez Rock festival in Belgium and two support slots for A.F.I. and Sick Of It All in Switzerland. In October they will travel to Canada for their first non-European tour.

After some trouble in the band they finally called it quits in 2001.
