About Kelvin Lucas
Kelvin Lucas is an electronic-music producer DJ from Spain, origin of Cuba. He now resides in Paris, France.
In the early 2009 he discovered electronic music and began to pursue his own style. Inspired by artists like, John Carpenter, Hans Zimmer, Sascha Braemer, Maceo Plex and Kenny Larkin. His music is a blend of Deep Techno , Tech House and Deep House.
To explain the evolutionary process behind Kelvin’s existance we must travel back to 2006, to the beginning of his creativity when he escape from Cuba with barely money for food. Nonetheless his goal always kept his head ahead.
At first studying Modern Dance Kelvin was influenced by many Latin rhythms and music styles.
Wasn’t until 2011 as he decides to buy a cheap mixer and start as a DJ in a very small underground Berliner bar. Later on he moved to Paris and stayed for some time in the DJ Scene. The frustration of not being recognized and cheated by the promoters, lead him to the decision of dropping the spin to gets more time for producing his own music.
In 2015 he becomes a part of Berlin’s Label “WHATIPLAY” owned by the talented artist Sascha Braemer and his debut Album "Ashtar" hits the number 10 on Beatport's Deep House chart for more than 42 days in a row.
His music have been played by Top Djs such as Oliver Koletzki, Sascha Braemer, Eelke Kleijn, Betoko and many others.
In terms of what’s next, Kelvin has plenty up his sleeve. First and foremost, he is working on his new EP, which promises to be a departure from his first yet will undeniably retain his individuality and uniqueness. He is also currently putting together a live band which he will be taking on the road with him. Kelvin has found more hours in the day that is humanely possible to balance so many projects with such ease and prowess and it is evident that he has a bright future ahead of him as a producer, as a DJ.
