Taking Meds

Taking Meds formed in 2012 in Rochester, NY and consists of Skylar Sarkis, Ben Kotin, Jon Markson, and Matt Battle. The project began when Kotin and Sarkis were on tour with their other band, Such Gold, and started to write lyrics over some of Kotin’s math rock inspired riffs. They soon added Markson and Battle to the group and recorded their first three songs in Battle’s Rochester apartment. These songs were released by Broken World Media in 2013 as the band’s first demo. What began as a side project in the interest of promoting creative freedom for the four musicians quickly became powerful live act, combining intricate, Braid-like riffs with an intensity akin to At the Drive-In. The band spent 2014 and 2015 writing and touring the East Coast, and will release their debut LP, My Life as a Bro, on November 4th via Broken World Media. Music to drown out your brain zaps.
