Scott Wainwright

Scott Wainwright is a Yorkshire based musician and artist. His songs skip through many different genre's including Blues, Folk, Gospel and Hip Hop. Having been active as a solo artist since 2005, Scott is known for his constant touring of UK venues and his prolific and varied recorded output.
Spread over five EP’s, six Albums and a few Singles, Scott Wainwright has experimented with many styles. His first four releases were purely instrumental until a sharp change in direction came about with the album titled ‘Every Man Has His Critics’, which blended Electric Blues and Skiffle like Folk songs with alternative Hip Hop and gentle piano instrumentals.
After ‘Critics’ Scott released albums in countless styles such as ‘All That Glitters Is Not Gold’ and ‘Whispers from A Kind River’ (Folk/Singer Songwriter), ‘Strangers Here’ and ‘The Future of Primitivism’ (Alternative Blues/ LO-FI Blues) and the live album ‘Playing Out Before Bedtime’. All Scott’s albums have generated mixed reviews from the music press whilst be much sought after by admires of his work.
Besides his studio work, Scott is an engaging live performer, turning in an average of 150 live shows across the UK. His shows tend to be solo, mainly acoustic and features many comedic anecdotes and asides.
2017 will see the release of a brand new live EP entitled ‘Straight Forward, Getting There’, a brand-new album featuring Scott’s all instrumental work and of course countless live shows.
