About Désir Decir
Desir Decir are not a classic rock cover band, they are not a group of DJs, and they are not a bunch of glue sniffing miscreants. They are a rock and roll band from Jersey City, New Jersey, the smaller, much maligned cousin of New York, and as a result, they have something to prove. Their band name translates to a desire to say.
Singer, guitarist, Bob Dylan devotee, and former (key word) glue sniffing miscreant John Feuerbach fronts the trio. He met drummer Mitch Cady, a failed stuntman who worshipped at the altar of Epitaph and Fat Wreck drummers, at a Dick Dale show in their home state of Nebraska. From there, they began a long-con campaign for world domination by touring the nation in smelly vans while playing in The Heat Machine and Bandit Sound. When both of those bands dissolved, they got drunk and decided to move to New Jersey to form The Jersey City Boys Choir For Men (TJCBCFM).
They met Greg Reyes, a transplanted Dominican brujo who took to the bass late in life, years after graduating at the top of his class from the Hudson Finishing School for the Dashing and Debonair. Greg joined TJCBCFM, but the three felt they needed a side project with an edge. They formed Desir Decir in 2013, recorded two EPs, which were released on Killing Horse Records, and have toured the eastern half of the U.S.
"The Jersey City trio, led by the dance-able, jangling guitar riffs and sing-along vocals of John Feuerbach, have perhaps captured the spirit of New Jersey unlike any other band, with songwriting that is both emotional and tough, scrapping their way to the top."
