About Hammercult

Two years have passed since Israeli thrash metal act Hammercult released their album Steelcrusher. Two years during which not only the whole world but also the international metal scene have changed. Hammercult have stayed abreast of those changes: more than ever before, the band impress with their broad stylistic range, increasingly allowing – along with their unmistakable strengths – influences from the punk, hardcore and traditional heavy metal genres. The result is entitled Built For War, a true, intoxicating thrash metal manifesto with an inescapable knock-on effect. Because one thing is certain: anybody who liked Steelcrusher is bound to be absolutely bowled over by Built For War. And all those who haven’t got Hammercult on their metal menu yet will celebrate the group’s latest offering as the discovery of the year. Vocalist Yakir Von Hammer (photo middle) explains: “Every song on the album is the kind of pumping anthem which Hammercult are known for – but this time we’ve taken the songs to different places, with a more melodic and more original approach which really stands out,” “The vocals on Built For War are very unique and range from screams to growls, hardcore shouts to clean vocals – which I honestly believe has never been done before by a single performer. If I had to summarize Built For War in a single sentence it would be ‘Destruction meets Manowar in an explosive mix of extreme music and true metal.’ Since its formation in late 2010, HAMMERCULT has created a violent mixture of extreme thrash metal with a nasty punk approach, delivering crunching riffs, furious vocals, pounding drum skins and sickening lyrics. In a matter of months, HAMMERCULT has managed to gather a loyal hardcore fan base through the band's intense live show attitude – NO BULLSHIT, JUST METAL! After conquering the hearts of the Iocal metalheads, HAMMERCULT emerged victorious at the international Metal Battle competition at Wacken Open Air in summer 2011. But this was just the beginning – signing to the German label Sonic Attack Records, founded by Karl Walterbach, and embarking on a European tour with crossover legends D.R.I. wrapped up an amazing and eventful year for the unstoppable thrashers. April 2012 saw HAMMERCULT presenting their debut full-length effort "Anthems of the Damned" that showcases the group's non-compromising style of aggressive extreme metal. The album release was followed by a European tour during which the band has shared stages with heavy metal giants such as Sepultura, Hatebreed and Malevolent Creation. Upon the completion of the tour, as well as another solid performance at Wacken Open Air the band set the stranded as one of the best newcomer thrash band today. In 2013 Hammercult inked a deal with a major record label SPV, which have re-released the band debut album 'Anthems Of The Damned' on vinyl, and following another European tour with Sepultura and just before their first visit to Metaldays festival and Summer Breeze Open air, HAMMERCULT have recorded their 2nd album Steelcrusher. In early 2014 Hammercult have released their 2nd album STEELCRUSHER vis SPV records, which was quickly hailed by many as the best Thrash Metal album of 2014! The album was released on both CD and vinyl editions and included a special licensing version for the Japanese market. Following the succss of Steelcrusher, the band toured across Europe with Napalm Death, as well as performing later that year in multiple international metal festivals such as RockHarz in Germany, Brutal Assault in Czech Republic, Antwerp Metal Fest in Belgium and Rock Your Brain in France.
