About Soul Survivor Band

Mike Marbut - Jacksonville Alabama – Guitar Vocals-- 50+ years experience. Original member of the Tyn Tymes from Gadsden (‘67-‘70) playing all over southeastern US—The band reunited in 2000 and has been working ever since. He has been a professional musician his entire career. And is also a recording artist recording up to now in Nashville. Mike has experience in a wide variety of music.

Bobby Delander - Birmingham Alabama – Guitar, Vocals-- 50+ Years experience. Founding member of Crimson Tide Band - Capital recording artist (2 albums) -- Recorded both albums at Capital Records in Hollywood - Opened for Louisiana LeRoux, Styx. Won Addie awards for commercial Vocal. Bobby has been a prominent Birmingham musician for many years.

Stan Dailey – Ft. Payne Alabama –Bass, Vocals -- 40 years experience. Stan began playing music with his family gospel group. He was bass guitarist for The Hensons in 1996 when they had two #1 hits on southern gospel charts and toured with them for 4 years. Stan has also produced vocals on Dove Award nominated album in 2005 and has been a part of several nominated songs. He has also recorded a movie soundtrack at Cyprus moon studio in Muscle Shoals “When I find the Ocean” He also worked with Dennis Clifton in Muscle Shoals recording bluegrass albums (25-30) during that tenure. Stan has opened for George Jones, Diamond Rio, Restless Heart, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Alabama

Lowell Shirey- Guntersville, Alabama Been playing 35 years – Singer, Drums and Percussion. Lowell began at an early age singing and playing drums in church. After several years he entered and competed in the TNN TV show, You Could Be a Star, where he was 1st runner up. He was on the show for 16 weeks. Lowell later signed RCA development deal in Nashville working with Dennis Clifton to develop material for major record deal. It did not materialize but during that time and later he opened for Exile, Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Eddie Raven, Vince Gill, Kentucky Headhunters, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson. The band Legal Tender was formed to continue this recording project (With Dennis Clifton and Gene Pledger). He also was the lead singer for the Downtown Horns for several years. Lowell has extensive experience and is one of the finest vocalists to come from our area.

Gene Pledger- Albertville, Alabama—30 Years Experience-- Drums and Percussion. Gene began his career with Pat Upton – Headline playing at PJ’s Alley in Guntersville. He then joined Bagdad, a major circuit touring rock band playing the southeastern US, Opening for Foghat, Brother Cane, Pat Travers among others. In 1991 he joined Legal Tender with Lowell Shirey and Dennis Clifton playing and recording in Nashville for many major record companies and performing shows in Atlanta and Nashville. Legal Tender performed at the Big Spring Jam, City Stages, and Panoply and also opened for Martina McBride and Sammy Kershaw @ Riverfest, Steve Warner and Lee Roy Parnell @ Sloss Furnace. Gene has been performing acoustic shows with Damon Johnson (Brother Cane, Alice Cooper, Thin Lizzy, Black Star Riders) for 10+ years and recorded 2 acoustic albums with him. Among many shows they performed Rick and Bubba Fat Fest at Oak Mountain Amphitheater (sold out) and opening for Eric Johnson at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth GA. (Atlanta). He has also performed acoustic shows with Mike Farris (Grammy winning artist) Buck Johnson (current Aerosmith keyboardist) and Audley Freed from Black Crowes. Gene was the drummer with Downtown Horns for 10 years playing Big Spring Jam, panoply and many other functions and is currently the drummer in WARM2014-15.
