Stop-you-in-your-tracks vocalist and songwriter Christine Sweeney has appeared at slots at choice fests like the Connecticut Folk Fest and Falcon Ridge Folk Fest, airplay on WFUV, on bills with Graham Parker and Jill Sobule, and in a Paste Magazine session. Paste’s Brad Wagner called her music “delightful” while Under the Radar Mag said, “Fusing influences from R&B, soul, Americana, rock, and blues, on her latest record Sweeney has crafted an enchanting approach to folk, one that retains its emotive storytelling roots while blurring its genre lines…a magnetic performer with a show-stopping voice.”

It’s a long way from a childhood spent singing along with R&B radio and cassettes. She generously dashes blues, pop, Americana, folk, and yes, R&B, in sharp, open-hearted songs, some drawn from hard-earned life lessons.
