About MUDLICK

MUDLICK
mudlickband@gmail.com

MUDLICK plays a very wide range of music that will make you want to get out of your seat and jam. The band is three-member group of seasoned players often joined by other guest musicians keeping the music fresh and interesting.

Some of our influences are the Little Feat, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry, Junior Wells, Big Joe Turner, Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf, Bob Dylan, J.J. Cale, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Albert King, Etta James, Tommy Castro, Delbert McClinton, Ray Charles, Taj Mahall, Buddy Guy, Elvis and many, many more. Kinda’ get da’ picture?

Ted “Doc” Dillard is a veteran guitarist and vocalist of about any kind of music. His musical career began at the age of three with the family band, The Original Dillards. Doc’s talents have afforded him the opportunity to perform with numerous Grammy and Platinum recording artist as well as film stars. He has produced original music for movies, radio, television and educational television as well. Doc currently entertains with Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame and Rockabilly Hall of Fame artist in addition to playing with MUDLICK. Ted and Ron “Red Rock” Edwards worked together in the ‘70s. Now that “fire” has been rekindled with MUDLICK. Doc loves to play and write music!

David “Kush” Kushubar has roots in Charleston, SC but now resides in Upstate SC. Influenced by older brothers, he discovered the Beatles, the Stones and a Neil Young songbook at an early age and has been playing music ever since. Dave attended Clemson and played bass and sang in Rough Mix-a rowdy party band. He graduated in '85 and started the Charleston-based Krushtones and the acoustic duo Urban Lumberjacks with his cousin. The Krushtones played party rock and blues. They were regulars on the Charleston bar scene opening for Leslie West and NRBQ. After a brief hiatus to raise a family, Dave met Ron “Red Rock” Edwards at a local jam session and a rhythm section “Brotherhood” was born. Kush, like Doc, has the God given talent to sing and play practically any type of music. Kush’s solid bass lines lay down the foundation for MUDLICK. But, don’t be surprised to find Kush doing his solo acoustic gig around the Upstate.

Ron "Red Rock" Edwards is from Spartanburg. He played his first Moose Lodge gig at the age of 14 and was “hooked”. Prior to being drafted, Red Rock had the opportunity to play with The Toy Factory, an earlier incarnation of The Marshal Tucker Band. FYI, Tommy Caldwell hung the nickname Red Rock on him in the late ‘60’s. MTB opened some musical doors for Red Rock in the early ‘70s. He has shared the stage and toured with many Platinum and Gold Recording artist. Red Rock became “road weary” so he took time off from playing music full-time to start a business and raise a family. Now he’s playing with MUDLICK and it’s IT'S JUST PLAIN FUN!!!!!
