Jerry Hart & Flatland

Like many west Texans, Jerry Hart grew up in the oil patch. Born and raised on the region’s expansive plains – from which the band got its name – Jerry has always had a love for music. He’s played piano, guitar, bass guitar, and mandolin – most of which were self-taught. It was in high school, though, where he discovered his niche: singing. After graduation, Jerry began performing live and, in 1987, Flatland was formed. The next ten years were an exciting ride that saw the band performing with country greats such as Clay Walker, Tracy Byrd, Mark Chestnutt, Rick Trevino, BR549, and David Allan Coe.

In 1997, Jerry retired to raise his family, but never lost his passion for music and performing. After 16 years, though, it was time to get the band back together, and in 2013 Jerry Hart & Flatland re-emerged on the west Texas music scene. Since that time, we’ve played over 100 venues all over Texas. Our shows are an eclectic and crowd-pleasing mix of genres: a whole lotta country with a classic rock and roll twist. And that’s just the covers! Jerry has an amazing gift for songwriting, which gives us a sound as unique as west Texas. We call this Flatland Style.
