The Medicinal Purpose

The Medicinal Purpose is a sound and a feeling, more than a “band”. Music created directly from the sources of the blues, soul and rock and roll. Fluidly forming since it’s inception in the early 2000’s, the group is constantly evolving it’s sounds and players to better serve the songs. At the core, you’ll find the founding fathers - Brother Sal Maffettone (guitars, vocals, drums, etc.) and Chris Ball (bass, vocals, keys, drums, etc.). The stage and the studio have always been their home, with decades of grinding through the scenes with various artists. They have found a sound together in The Medicinal Purpose… A sound like no other in the current musical climate. Heavy soul. Deep blues. Real rock n’ roll. Explorations in improvisation. This is music for healing.
