About Angus Mc Og

Angus Mc Og is the stage name of indie folk songwriter Antonio Tavoni from Modena Italy. The project moves its firsts steps in 2009, when Antonio flies to Australia to meet his friend Lucio Pedrazzi, moved to Sydney where he makes a living out from playing drum in several bands. While down under Antonio starts to seriously work at some new songs he wrote and in the austral Winter he drafts them along with his drummer friend. Back in Italy, Anorak, the debut album, is recorded a year later and eventually released in April 2011. The album gets warm reviews and Angus Mc Og starts gigging around Italy through clubs and small venues. On summer 2011 Angus Mc Og leaves for the US where he plays for two weeks in New York, Providence and Boston. In the meanwhile the project starts touring as a trio, featuring Lucio Pedrazzi on drums and Daniele Rossi on cello, banjo and organ. On spring 2012 the band plays a twelve shows tour in France and release Town on a river – Wasted, a single on 45 rpm vinyl and digital download. On winter 2013 Arnaut, the second album is released. Recorded at Bombanella Soundscapes, a studio set in northern Italy countryside, the album is inspired by Arnaut Daniel, the French trobadour praised by Dante Alighieri and then recalled by T.S. Eliot. Arnaut is promoted by Unomundo in Italy and A Giant Leap in the UK. On spring 2013 Angus Mc Og plays his first gigs in London and the trio is invited to play a live set at NTS Radio. On Autumn 2013 Angus Mc Og goes back to a solo project and writes the soundtrack for Stefano Cattini’s independent movie Aishiteru My Love, before going back gigging again. One guy that sometimes becomes three guys, sometimes maybe more...
