About Genders

"genders has been around since the beginning of 2004, which started off as a project called via employee in 2003 by jeffrey william thomas. genders was also first a noisier project by jeffrey during via employee, which a whopping 10 or so tapes were given out and two shows played, because he quickly decided he didn't like playing alone. when evan wallace johnson joined via employee after several band changes, jeffrey and evan found thier match over a quick period of time. via employee reduced to two people and then transfered to the name genders and it all became one. total musical soul mates. they jam a lot, and with other people often without much of any rules or limitations. there have been a few 3rd members added and removed. these include prodominantly vincent mazzola, tia fletcher, and neal burger simms. only a small fragment of genders music is actually released. sometimes new songs are songs that are actually old that were never expanded upon until that time. there have been many limited releases available to show goers (mostly detroit crowds) such as demos and live performances. not purposely limited though! genders releases do not contain numbers. genders do not want anymore collector value placed upon the releases then thier has to be. chances are, genders could try and reproduce any release for a person that would want it. most of genders music has never been recorded and probably will not be remembered. this happens all the time though. some of our favorite music jams were just in the moment. keeping working on "songs" is usually the hardest part for us. we are on and off right now, but we are trying to get ourselves to some organized level like we sometimes can be." --from their myspace
