About Anna Fermin's Trigger Gospel

Named after an old Western novel, anna fermin’s trigger gospel reflects a spirited sound that intertwines hometown country and rock & roll with “a strong melodic-pop appeal.” (Holly Rushakoff, The Octopus)

Formed in 1997, anna fermin’s trigger gospel has garnered the attention and respect of critics and music fans alike, hooking audiences with their eclectic songs and rousing live shows. In the years this Chicago-based band has been together, they’ve shared the stage with an impressive roster of musicians including Johnny Cash, Steve Earle, Joe Ely, Robbie Fulks, Delbert McClinton, Neko Case and many more.

The eclectic influences of her bandmates, who include Paul Bivans on drums & percussion, Michael Krayniak on bass, Grant Tye on guitars and Alton Smith on keyboard, have become the perfect compliment to Fermin’s stunning originals, "that smartly place her voice where it belongs - front and center.” (Monica Eng/Chicago Tribune)

ABOUT “GO”
Simply titled, GO, the latest CD from Anna Fermin's Trigger Gospel showcases another collection of memorable originals from one of Chicago's most beloved hometown bands. The follow up to the critically acclaimed, Oh The Stories We Hold, GO is the bands first studio album in three years and has been released in the US on Anna Fermin's own label, Sighlow Music.

Recorded at Chicago's Rax Trax studios and produced by Jay O'Rourke (The Insiders, The Juleps) and Scott Ligon (The Heatersons, Kelly Hogan, Nora O'Connor), GO was completed in the fall of 2006 and features eight songs penned by the bands talented front-woman Anna Fermin along with a spirited rendition of "She" written by the late Gram Parsons and Chris Ethridge.

This new recording also features the formidable talent and influence
of Scott Ligon on keyboards & guitars. Long time band mates, Paul Bivans on drums & percussion and Michael Krayniak on bass complete the band’s truly original & eclectic sound.
