About George Perris

George Perris was born in Athens in 1983 to a Greek father and a French mother. At a very early age, Perris decided he wanted to become a singer and began studying voice and piano while pursuing his studies in Greek Literature at the University of Athens. Shortly thereafter, his first Greek album was released by EMI. Perris went on to release 2 more Greek albums with Sony Music and Heaven Music, and a French album in Canada with Select Records. Perris has performed at some of the most prestigious concert halls around the world including [Lincoln Center, New York; Symphony Hall, Boston; Le Zenith, Paris; Place des Arts, Montreal; Herod Atticus Theatre, Athens; Kurucesme Arena, Istanbul] and has collaborated with acclaimed international artists including Lara Fabian, Tina Arena, Mario Frangoulis, Lucio Dalla, Justin Hayward and Hayley Westenra. In 2014 Perris released his debut English album in N. America, “Picture This”. This album represents Perris’ first collaboration with a host of global producers, writers, arrangers and mixers including Mark Portmann (Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion), Marco Marinangeli (Josh Groban, Il Divo), Simon Hale (Bjork, Tina Arena). The album includes 13 tracks, 3 of which have been co-written by Perris, as well as the participation of The Prague Symphony Orchestra. Both ‘Picture This’ and his DVD “Live in New York” were released in late 2014 globally through Decca Records/Universal Music. In addition, his first PBS concert special “George Perris Live from Jazz at Lincoln Center”, filmed live in New York was broadcast nationally throughout the December 2015 and March 2016 pledge drives, reaching 47% of the country and more than 500 airings of the show, making it a success! Perris went on to perform his “Picture This” tour in more than 30 cities throughout 2015/2016, including New York, Athens, Montreal, Sydney, Melbourne, Bangkok, Istanbul and many more. He was also given the honor to perform the American National Anthem at the legendary Madison Square Garden for a Knicks and a Rangers game. Back to his homeland, in Spring 2016, Perris released an album of duets in Greek with Mario Frangoulis which was an immediate success, selling 68.000 copies and making it to the 3rd position in the charts. George Perris is engaged to a cause that is important to him personally: The Horatio Alger Association, an association that offers scholarships to students facing adversity and for which George is an International Ambassador.
