Straw Hat Society, based in Dallas, consists of Rags O’Hooligan (singer/guitarist), Alex Addy (guitar) and Rodney Key (upright bass) though the “Society” often hosts other musicians for performances that are always unique. Their music contains the spirit and energy of a preacher and the whit and sarcasm of a comedian rolled into a raw authentic sound. Their storytelling, folk style offers a view into small-town East Texas cities and sites inspiration from John Prine, the Rolling Stones, Woody and Arlo Guthrie, and many local musicians and friends.
