About demain

Jason Demain is an alternative power pop guitarist, singer, songwriter, and music producer. Starting in bands in the San Diego and Los Angeles in the late 80s - early 90s. Jason's spent his early career in California until 1999 when he, Stephen Kemp, Mykael Lundstedt and Beth Kelly (Satellite Heroes) migrated to Portland, Oregon. The trio then released the EP ".com" before disbanding in 2000. Jason moved around between Tacoma, WA; Seattle, WA; and briefly to Vancouver B.C.; playing in the bands M-set, Loser, International Pop Overthrow, and Superjaded. Radio play reached an international status in 2002 when Microsoft included 2 of Jason's songs in their 5.1 surround campaign with Kodak, and one instrumental for an Xbox commercial. Jason decided to move back to Portland when E.M.I./Capitol Records backed Camaro Hair invited him into the band on guitar. Jason did a 2 year stint with Camaro Hair and 1 year fronting The Strain (also featuring Craig Montoya of Everclear). He reunited with Steve and Myk in 2005 , played a short time with The Candystrippers, and another year with Smoochknob. Currently Jason's band is simply known as "Demain" Demain's music can be explained (and not so easily explained) in others' words as being dark, poppy, complex, and to the point. A very matter-of-fact in it's honesty, yet sometimes abstract. Jason borrows a lot of ideas from the Lennon/McCartney style of songwriting, some material spanning from 50's, southern twang, middle eastern, to Industrial... yet always maintaining a radio friendly structure. Jason has the luxury of having a small Pro Tools studio to help him in demo production and songwriting. Some professional recordings (produced by Jon Plum [Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Candlebox] at London Bridge Studios in Seattle, WA) can be heard on the "Exposed" LP. Jason is currently offering songwriting for other artists as well as submissions of original work for commercial purposes (film, radio, podcasts, etc...) Jason can be reached at jasondemain@gmail.com Iconic, hook laden melodies, wall of guitars, in your face drums, & radio ready tunes make up this alternative rock group from Portland, OR. - PR
