Kirby Sewell was born to sing. Sewell, who stands 6 ft 6, belts out the tunes like the Big Blue shouters of the past, but reserves a tenderness for being soft in the right moments.

Kirby, known to break a sweat performing, commands the stage sharing nuances of his own life in unforgettable vocal performances, leaving audiences little doubt that the Blues has spent some time with him.

Kirby Sewell was lead vocalist of the Kirby Sewell Band from 2009 to 2018. Almost 10 years the band thrilled audiences, and it was fun for the singer to realize his dream of taking a band on the road.

Kirby has performed on International stages across North America, like the Big Blues Bender, San Jose Jazz Festival ,to the lakes of Toronto at Beaches International Jazz Festival, to RBC Ottawa Blues Festival and festivals like the Salmon Arm Roots & Blues to name a few.

Kirby has shared stages with Colin James, Burton Cummings, Blue Rodeo, Trombone Shorty, Monkey Junk, Coco Montoya and Downchild Blues Band. The band’s music has been spun worldwide, airing on networks like SiriusXM, Galaxy and CBC’s ‘Saturday Night Blues.’ Charting highly with two #1 songs on Canada’s Roots Music Report, hitting #2 on Alberta’s CKUA, their stereotype breaking Blues has received critical acclaim from Nashville to Russia with press highlights in No Depression (USA), !Earshot (CAN), Rocks (Germany) and RELIX (NYC).

Kirby now has fun singing with The Pauls, celebrating the songs of Paul McCartney & Paul Simon.
