About The White Album

The warm, hearty tunes of Danish folk-act The White Album began sprouting, as natural and free-flowing as each of the three band members’ beards, when long-time friends Claus Arvad, Jakob Eilsø and Frederik Vedersø in the fall of 2010 teamed up in a cottage in the Danish countryside to write music.
After years of loyal service in different bands, the three together finally found an outlet that allowed them to write music as pure and personal as many of their timeless inspirations, such as The Beatles (from whose classic 1968 record, The White Album took their name after), Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Young and so on.

With their characteristic style of “Nordic melancholy”, the trio debuted in 2011 with the digital release of “The Album”, which went straight into top-5 on the American radio station NPR 2. The year after The White Album followed up with the EP “Conquistador” to great media appraisal both home and abroad, where British tabloid The Independent among others, commended the trio for sounding like “Sufjan Stevens singing psalms with Low”. Back home in Denmark the release didn’t go unnoticed as well, where prime music magazine Soundvenue rewarded the effort with a five star rating, and the band went on to make a series of successful festival appearances.

In September 2014, The White Album returned with their debut full-length, “The Quiet Strum”, whose soft and delicate soundscape is the handiwork of Kashmir-drummer Asger Techau in cooperation with the band itself. The album, which was released through legendary Beatles-label Parlophone, subsequently paved the way for the band to play German industry festivals Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg and Berlin Music Week, a handful of packed club shows in Switzerland, an extensive and well-visited club tour of Denmark, and last but not least, to make an appearance at the Crown Prince and Princess’ annual award show on national, Danish television.
