About Todesbonden

Todesbonden, founded by Laurie Ann Haus (Autumn Tears, Ephemeral Sun, Nest, Rain Fell Within, Garden of Shadows) is a doom metal, atmospheric, renaissance, ethnic, Celtic, medieval, and classically influenced project taking the listener on a fantastic musical journey of fantasy, longing, and a time long past.

Using a mix of catchy trance-inducing melodies, interwoven with soft melodic piano, breathtaking and versatile vocals, heavy, dark, and classical guitar, and emotional violins, Todesbonden attempts to create a sound to touch the inner heart and soul of every listener.

Drawing on her classical/renaissance training, Laurie mixes ancient influences with modern sounds to create original compositions such as "Sun and Venus,” and reinterprets traditional renaissance songs such as "Flow My Tears" and "Sorrow Stay," by Dowland.

In 2003 Laurie recruited Jason A. Wood (Ol Sonuf, X-Ephemeral Sun, X-Rain Fell Within) on guitar/bass/programming and Patrick Geddes (The Groaning) on violin for the Stormbringer EP, in 2004.

Laurie is currently working with Jason Ian Vaughn Eckert (X-Aurora Borealis, X- Rain Fell Within) on Bass, Jason A Wood on guitars, Patrick Geddes on violin and James Lamb on keyboards for their upcoming album "Ghost of the Crescent Moon" to be released on Prophecy Productions in early 2006. Also featured on this album will be A. Tolonen (Nest, Shape of Despair, Mist and the Morning Dew) playing Kantele.
