Few people would have the courage to chase their dreams by buying a one-way ticket from their home in Belgium to the U.S. city of Nashville…but that is exactly what eclectic music artist Irenka did. Since then, she has performed at pubs, festivals, and other venues in cities such as Dallas, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles as well as internationally in Toronto, and Brussels. Irenka has also received media coverage from ICI Radio Canada, France 2 Television, The Pittsburgh City Paper, and WBKO-TV in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

A vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, Irenka released her debut EP, Wait 4 It, in 2014. From the French Industrial-inspired “Comme Si” to the jazzy and sarcastic “I Don’t Need No Lover”, the EP consists of five tracks showcasing a variety of Irenka’s favorite genres. Irenka is currently preparing for the premiere of her latest music video, “Dreamland”. The conceptual video, best described as a collision between musical expression and visual art, is a representation of the challenges Irenka encountered after moving to the United States to build her music career.

Irenka is as multi-cultural away from music as she is with her art. She is fluent in four languages – English, French, Spanish, and Czech – and can also speak some Dutch. Traveling is one of her biggest passions, whether she is visiting family in Brussels or spending time with friends in Paris. In her downtime, Irenka can be found salsa dancing or binge watching TED talk videos. She is also advocate for mental health awareness, anti-bullying, and environmental issues and solutions.
