SunGhosts

SunGhosts was formed by chance encounters, the fabled “right-place right-time” phenomenon. A songwriter searching for good musicians led to conversations sparked around surf garage rock bands & a Red Hot Chili Peppers tattoo within Miami-Dade college’s music business program. It all came together when their future drummer quit his job so he could dedicate himself to the band. Their first self-recorded, self-released Phosphenes EP was a local hit with their single Til the City Goes Under and garnered them the Miami New Times’ Best Band of 2015 award. They signed to indie label Orchard House Music to release their 14-song debut self-titled LP in 2016. Throughout the years, SunGhosts has toured up the east coast, over to Austin for SXSW, to Milwaukee to play Summerfest, to Nashville, to play the first annual Okeechobee Fest after winning their Battle of the Bands, bringing it home to iii Points Fest in Miami.
SunGhosts, at its core, is as raw a group as they come. Honesty and emotion drip from every note. They weave together influences ranging all the way from indie rock to death metal in a maelstrom of genre-defying jams. Sonically, they salute the groove with ferocity & fluidity.
Thematically, “SunGhosts” seeks to embody life’s ever-present dualities: life & death, light & dark, yin & yang. With their music, the band seeks to inspire individual growth, to believe in the goodness of humanity, and to stand strong in the balance between peace & turmoil.”
