About El Joe of the River
Based in Los Angeles, CA, singer-songwriter and recording artist El Joe of the River presents a sound that is the result of an amalgam of influences ranging from Spanish guitar to Hip-Hop. A focused approach to lyrical rhythm and delivery show ostensibly in his vocal attack and timbre, while delicate and deliberate chord constructs make his guitar work immediately recognizable.
El Joe of the River's 2015 studio debut, the Contentions EP, is available now on iTunes, Spotify, and Soundcloud.
Joe is also the host and creator of Mezcla: Eclectic Nights –– a monthly music, poetry and performance showcase that takes place every first Thursday of the month in collaboration with DTLA gallery Art Share L.A. Launched in February 2016, Mezcla presents a new and diverse line up of local, independent artists every month in the heart of the Los Angeles Arts District.
