White Ghost is the opposite of elevator music. With bright synth hooks, pulsating rhythms, and a voice that is at once earnest and tumultuous, their songs capture the uncertainty of young adulthood with a frenetic energy that will make you move. Derek Halet (guitar/vocals) is an atypical front man; he’s startlingly tall, imposing, and often aloof - that is, until he sings. His dynamic melodies hit a dizzying register and force listeners to engage with what they’re hearing. Steve Marr (keyboards), formerly of indie-rock band Glen Iris, has been writing energetic pop songs for well over a decade, earning placements at networks such as AMC and Showtime. LACM graduates and seasoned drummer Spencer Wynn and bassist Ben Heyman form the backbone of the trio with a driving rhythm section.
