About Frank Daniel Laucerica, Tenor

Originally from Miami, Florida, Cuban-American tenor, Frank Daniel Laucerica is completing a bachelor's degree in music for Voice & Opera Performance at Northwestern University's Bienen School of Music. He is currently studying voice with Professor Kurt R. Hansen and is one of the members of the esteemed Bienen Contemporary/Early Vocal Ensemble (BCE) at Northwestern University under the direction of Dr. Donald Nally. Frank also currently works as the Tenor Soloist and Section Leader at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest under the direction of Dr. Thomas J. Tropp. He feels equally at home in an operatic setting as he does in a choral one and has performed in several Mid-West premieres as a member of BCE.

Laucerica appeared most recently as Don Curzio in Northwestern University Opera Theater's production of Le Nozze di Figaro. Other recent roles include the tenor in the Greek chorus modeled Jazz Trio of Trouble in Tahiti at Northwestern University. Previously, Mayor Upflod (and the cover of Albert) in the Miami Summer Music Festival's production of Benjamin's Britten comedic opera, Albert Herring, under the direction of Alan E. Hicks. Prior performances with Northwestern University's Opera Theater include the Younger Brother in the critically acclaimed and award-winning Chicago premiere of Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking and Pedrillo in scenes from Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail. Laucerica has also performed as Fenton in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Ralph Rackstraw in HMS Pinafore, Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance, and Nanki-Poo in The Mikado as part of high school opera productions.

Laucerica is currently working on the role of Elder Hayes with a cover of Little Bat in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah to be performed with Northwestern University's Opera Theater in 2016. He is also excited to be covering the role of Albert in the Chicago Summer Opera's production of Albert Herring.
