De Marvells

De Marvells come from diverse musical backgrounds and their sounds brings to minds of bands like Hawkind, Arctic Monkeys and Savage Rose. They draw influence and inspiration from artists and bands like The Allman Brothers,Nick Cave , Pj Harvey and Tarantino soundtracks. They not only draw inspiration from their own love of music but also from each other, which manifests itself in the way their energy and dynamic presence on stage captivates anyone in their vicinity. There is a uniqueness in each one of De Marvells´ songs, but there is a sense of woe, melancholy and anger that is present throughout. With three experienced musicians cementing a foundation of heavy drums and bass alongside a guitar reminiscent of 70´s psychedelic blues, the energy, the melancholy and the powerful vocals are a perfect match.


De Marvells have played local gigs and festivals. After a concert in Halden, they were given a full page in the local newspaper, as a band that is finally taking back the place for real rock and roll again. The author Tom Skjeklesæter of the article says he could find no other way to describe their lead singer but as if someone had rolled together Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Iggy Pop into one person, accompanied by Led Zeppelin in their early years.
