About Tori Sheard
Tori Sheard is an alt-folk singer-songwriter from the UK, crowned “Best Nottingham Solo Artist Of 2019” by The Mic Magazine. “Possessing the free-flowing aura omnipresent within Florence Welch and Maggie Rogers”, Tori brilliantly combines poetic lyrics with earwig melodies to capture human emotion, from simple love songs to existential social commentaries. Entangled with country-pop undertones, her earthy and ethereal sound finds its nuances in the likes of First Aid Kit and Jade Bird.
2019 was a brilliant year for the young songstress, starting out as Caffe Nero’s Artist Of The Month in January, and ending with a UK tour supporting Californian Americana band ‘Dustbowl Revival’. Tori’s debut EP, ‘Edge of the Earth’ graced the alternative charts at #26 (Number 20 in Poland!) and continues to gain popularity. From the upbeat folk of ‘Treading Water’ to the stripped back emotion of ‘Strangers’, Tori’s EP encapsulates a dreamy, ambient vibe that epitomises the cool yet rustic music roots she has cut her teeth on.
Described as ‘emotive and resonant, whilst still having a heavy hint of ‘holy shit, she’s on the verge of being a mega-famous popstar’’, Tori is quickly making her mark in the UK music scene! After selling out two headline shows at Nottingham’s ‘The Bodega’ and ‘Rough Trade’ before turning 20, she’s one to watch. The hard-working young musician played over 100 gigs in 2019, including Caffe Nero showcases all over the UK including Cornbury Festival, The Bedford (London), Chill Out Sessions (Brighton), Dot To Dot festival and more. She has supported UK artist Jon Allen on multiple tour dates, as well as regularly touring in her own right. 2020 will be a year of new music for Tori, as she aims to connect with as many audiences as possible through her music.
“An endearing quality of the singer-songwriter is that her live shows somehow retain the same essential characteristics as a relaxed mid-afternoon conversation, she exudes graciousness and resounding optimism, speaking in a manner so naturally heartfelt that it’s impossible not to filled lifted in her presence.”- The Mic Magazine
