About Kiddoo and the Dude

Let your hair down!

Kiddoo and the Dude is an ever-morphing force in rock music. Not studying in Boston, MA, Kiddoo - a local hippie singer-songwriter - approached local metal multi-instrumentalist, the Dude, to bang some skins for his band. At that time, Dude was shredding guitar in, Boston-based grindcore band, the Gary Busey Experience. The two brought bassist, Andrew Bregman, into the mix briefly until Kiddoo and the Dude were ready for a warmer climate and a funkier scene. They packed their bags for Austin, TX in summer 2010. Unable to find a fitting funk-slapper, K+D stripped down their sound and gigged every bar in Austin for the next two years as a powerhouse duo. When, in 2012, they were ready to lay down their debut album, K&D enlisted the help of their friend, Mitchell Vandenberg (bass), to lay down the low end at Yellowdog Studios. In support of that record, Kiddoo and the Dude brought aboard local rockers, Kevin Rowe (bass) and J Hungerford (guitar). To rouse the crowd, they also nabbed the beautiful and multi-talented, Priya Donna (vox/percuss) who'd never been on a stage until her first K&D she when she instantly owned it. The five-some spread themselves thin gigging the new record and making the ambitious "Spot" music video. Just after the video dropped, Kevin and J Hungerford parted ways to pursue their own musical careers. Without a pause, K&D spread their tentacles and scooped up shredder-friend, Harry "Divebomb" Jones (lead guitar), jazz-master friend, Spliffy (sax), and bass-wunderkind aquaintance, Rubby Tugsworth, whose outrageous reputation preceded him. Kiddoo, digging more into his rap influences, needed a hype man. He asked his long-time friend and dj, Heavy E, if he'd pause the record for a second and hype some of Kiddoo's rhymes. Heavy was so into it, he now takes lead vocals, with his original, "Heavy's Bong." The now-6-piece outfit, realizing what a circus they'd become, decided to run with that theme on their second record. Brace yourselves for the hour-length, "Kiddoo and the Dude's Funky Freakshow" - a missile of musical chaos headed straight for your earhole!
