About Jeb Barry

See more at www.jebbarry.com
2020 Saw the release of the new lp, 'ordinary folks", by his band The Pawn Shop Saints in Europe. 2018 saw the release of the double cd "texas., etc... " The release received heavy airplay and over two dozen rave reviews in Europe and spent three months on the Euro Americana charts. It received a 5 star rating from Country Music Magazine (UK)

Jeb released his second solo cd "Milltown", in late 2015... a follow-up to 2014's "Bury Me In A Lonely Place". Both releases received poitive reviews and airplay, especially "Milltown", in Europe.

A prolific songwriter, Jeb Barry has written over 4000 songs that roam through all styles of music. His more recent songs have been compared to Steve Earle, Jason Isbell and Townes Van Zandt, ….sparse, weary songs of the darker side of life…all recorded with no computers…and no autotune…Americana at its simplest, and finest. In 2014 Jeb signed his first publishing contract with Washington Street Publishing in Nashville after two years of pitching songs. Since then he had over a dozen songs added to his publishing tally.

Jeb is a regular performer in Nashville, especially at the Bluebird Café. He and the Saints have also performed at Club Passim, the Hudson Music Fest, Chesterwood Americana Fest, Club Helsinki, and are repeat performers at the Freshgrass Music Festival each fall…just to name a few….

In late 2012 he was twice named a 'Songwriter to Watch' by the Nashville Songwriters Association (for the first two songs he submitted) and several of his songs have received high rating and recommendations by NSAI and ASCAP Nashville. He has also received interest from various Nashville publishers. That same year saw the release of the Pawn Shop Saints EP Dead Broke and Dangerous with all songs by Jeb. The year before Jeb was a finalists in the Early Bird round of the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest for the second year in a row.

Jeb first gained major label (Gary Gersh/Cindi Peters at DGC) attention in the last 1980's and early 1990's in the power pop group The Typicals.
