About Savak
Hopped up on a steady diet of everything, SAVAK is a Brooklyn based post-punk band formed in 2015 by Sohrab Habibion (Obits, Edsel) and Michael Jaworski (The Cops) who play guitars, make noise and take turns singing songs. Drummer Matt Schulz (Holy Fuck, Enon) has been the other constant member over the course of 6 LPs, a remix album, an EP, and multiple 7” singles. The band performs live with drummer Jeff Gensterblum (Small Brown Bike, Her Heads On Fire) and bassist Matt Hunter (Silver Jews, New Radiant Storm King).
SAVAK is set to release their 6th full-length LP entitled “Flavors Of Paradise” on March 1st, 2024 as a split release via Ernest Jenning Recording Co. and their own label, Peculiar Works Music. The band recorded the album with Matthew Barnhart in June of 2023 at Electrical Audio studios in Chicago. Barnhart engineered, mixed and mastered the LP.
