About Feyer

Andrew Feyer, known by most as just the last name and solo moniker Feyer (pronounced like Tina Fey’s last name but with an -er at the end), is a singer, songwriter, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with diverse musical experience spanning many genres and styles. Feyer constructs his unique sound by combining personal, yet theatrical lyrics, with a classically influenced melodic and instrumental style, coupled with electronic-rock production. Key components of Feyer’s style are the fusion of retro and futuristic sounds and the incorporation of visual elements into the mix, drawing great influence from nostalgic cartoons, movies, video games, and animation loops.

Born in New York City and raised in the surrounding suburbs, Feyer began his musical journey at a young age with piano lessons. He then expanded to playing guitar, drums, and whatever percussion instruments he could get his hands on. After various stints in numerous bands, Feyer relocated upstate and attended Bard College for music composition and production. By then, Feyer’s compositional focus shifted to incorporate more electronic elements, taking advantage of the music software he had at his fingertips. In his final year at college, Feyer solidified his interests and skills in songwriting and production and graduated with a fully produced album ready for release. That debut album, Signals Internalized, was released in early 2017. The music was described as energetic, exciting, thought-provoking and risk-taking by a number of online publications. Spawned from the album are several music videos, in collaboration with numerous emerging filmmakers, visual artists, and animators. Since then, Feyer has released a diverse array of singles: the chiptune-infused “Stuck in a Video Game,” the ironic rock rager “Parties!”, and the laid back “Cauterize,” a collaboration with NYC singer/songwriter Evan Crommett. His latest release, Anything Better to Do, features instrumentalists Alex Mercuri (guitarist for Pom Pom Squad, Long Neck, Sailor Boyfriend), Sam Bierman (producer for EMIA), and Michael Bouteneff (drummer for Dark After Dawn).

Now based back in NYC, Feyer has developed a cult-following, showcasing his music at many of the city’s well-known venues, including Mercury Lounge, Knitting Factory, Arlene’s Grocery and Pianos. Feyer is also active as a performer on TikTok, playing covers of well-known songs on his signature instrument: the keytar.

When he is not working on his own music, Feyer can be found involving himself with other projects with different artists and bands all across the music world, ranging from work as a songwriter and producer to a recording/mixing engineer. Feyer also performs as a DJ and remix artist under the alias Draniods, and runs an audio production company called Accretion Sound, providing sound design and musical scores for films, TV, commercials, podcasts, audiobooks, and beyond.

Feyer’s music has been featured in Music Connection, Obscure Sound, PopDust, Broadway World, Impose Magazine, ElectroWow, Gas Mask Magazine, Look at My Records, New Noise Magazine, and many others.
