About This Misery Garden

Namely the so-called “Garden of Eden” reduced to an exploitable land and the “Misery” of mankind in its destructive behaviour... Formed in Geneva in 2005, This Misery Garden is a dark rock/metal band aiming to deliver a genuine intense music. Melancholy threatening hope, anger defying serenity, all of those blend altogether to create a vivid and illuminating sound. During the year 2007 TMG recorded a 3-Tracks demo-CD for promotional use and eventually began to record their first album “Another Great Day on Earth” (Discovery of the Month on Rockhard France - December 2009) the following year. Fourteen powerful yet melodic songs published in October 2009 by Galileo Records. Following this release, TMG were played on Bruce Dickinson’s (Iron Maiden) “Friday Rock Show” on BBC6. Their sophomore full length “Cornerstone” has been recorded and mixed by Drop (Samael) at the “Downtone Studio” in Geneva (Switzerland) and mastered at the “Fascination Street Studio” in Orebro (Sweden) by Jens Bogren (Katatonia, Opeth, Paradise Lost). This second album was released by the legendary record label “Season of Mist” in 2013. Following a short break, TMG comes back in 2017 with a 3rd album and returns to the record label “Galileo Records”. Ready to leave its mark, ‘Hyperstitious’ (Album of the month on ROCKARD magazine France - May 2017) is by nature more direct than its predecessors while still keeping the atmospheres that are important to the band. TMG has one again entrusted the recording, mixing and mastering of the album to Drop from Samael. The arrival of new bassist Jeremie brings a new energy and a big impatience from the band to get back onto the stage to transmit their passions and new emotions. In any way, This Misery Garden will not let you indifferent. Since then, TMG has opened for MOONSPELL, PAIN OF SALVATION or yet again INSOMNIUM. Namely the so-called “Garden of Eden” reduced to an exploitable land and the “Misery” of mankind in its destructive behaviour...
