About The Ocean Cure

The road to success is a long and arduous one. The Ocean Cure are no strangers to this as they continue down that path. The band started as just an idea, an idea to play real music. That idea was brought to life when guitarist Nick Baskerville began jamming with vocalist Pauline Taylor in mid-2013. The two quickly realized that they had a strong musical chemistry and wanted to write music that could stand out as something different from the trendy flavour of the week. They began writing and recording music thus starting the project. The two continued to hone their craft while carefully waiting to take the next step. After contacting friends for whom Nick had previously shared the stage with, Mike Di Monte and Casius Wray-Muto eventually joined the fold bringing along their multitude of musical talents. As 2015 neared, the band found themselves in a position for which they hadn’t been before. Armed with a full lineup and an energetic set the band turned their attention towards the road and their live performance. The band wasted no time establishing themselves playing many live shows at a multitude of different venues across Ontario. The bands diverse sound led to them performing with a variety of bands with different sounds. They found themselves sharing the stage with many friends both new and old. Some of the highlights include performances alongside many well known acts such as Hawthorne Heights and I Set My Friends On Fire as well as performing at many popular festivals including Warped Tour and Koi Music Festival. In between the band managed to find time to hit the studio and record a handful of songs. 2016 has been just as busy as the band have already performed alongside popular acts Ice Nine Kills and Oh Sleeper. They also released their debut EP entitled “Daydreamer” which has opened the door towards new opportunities and a broader audience. The band shows no signs of slowing down as they are gearing up to release their first official music video for their new single "Waiting for You" and will continue to hit the road for many more exciting shows. No this story is not over, its only just beginning. In fact, the Ocean Cure remains open book and they continue to write this story every day.
