Southern Governor

Residing on the outskirts of Winchester, Virginia, Southern Governor is a truly distinctive band with a style that is virtually impossible to compare. Best described as heavy hitting rock with a southern charm, Southern Governor delivers a unique package yet still stays true to the “southern” movement made famous in the late 70’s. While retaining that obvious influence, due to the bands diverse influences it drawls fans from all genres. Rock, Metal, Southern Rock, and even Country music has helped shape SG's sound. Dirty guitars, monstrous drumming, deep bass grooves and soulful vocals is what you’ll come to expect from these guys. Founded in 2009, Southern Governor consists of 3 members, Patrick Galanis, Josh Galanis, Stacey Galanis. No slouch to playing live SG has shared the stage with some of the industries best artists. Molly Hatchet, Jackyl, L.A Guns, Adrenaline Mob, Blackfoot, & Jimmie Van Zant just to name a few. Their debut album titled "It's My Time" was produced by Chris Robertson of Kentucky rock band Black Stone Cherry, recorded in Glasgow, KY at the Music is Me studio, released in June 2013 the album received nothing but good reviews, from not only the local Winchester and surrounding communities, but also all across the USA, and overseas in countries such as the United Kingdom, & Germany. While SG is relatively new to the touring side of the music industry, they have already traveled to states hundreds of miles away from home to play. They are taking it the next step further, aside from playing local, there is a bigger plan for the band, in 2014 they are scheduled to play on their highly anticipated east coast tour.
