About Mark Prihodko Cellist
Mark Prihodko started his performing career at age 9 at the Musica Mundi Festival In Belgium and Chat el Ro Concert Series in France. At that time he studied with renowned cellist Vladimir Perlin in Minsk at Republican Music Colege of Belarus.
In 2012 Mark was offered a scholarship from the Shattuck St. Mary’s School (Faribault, MN) to pursue his passion for music by studying with Tanya Remenikova, Professor of Cello (University of Minnesota), herself a former student of Mstislav Rostropovich at the Moscow Conservatory, Russia.
Before he came to study in the US, Mark participated in various musical projects and concerts in Belarus, Russia, Poland, France, Bahrain, Belgium, Germany. He also participated in master classes with well-known performing artists such as Maxim Vengerov, Paul Badura-Skoda, Gevriel Lipkind and Jerome Pernoo.
During four years of studying in the United States, Mark has won numerous competitions, and performed at multiple venues, solo recital series, as well as chamber and solo projects around US. He has worked with a number of orchestras around the world, such as the Moscow and Minsk Philharmonics, Minnesota Sinfonia, and the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra. Mark also won “The Best Performer Of The Year” award during the Salon Se Leve recital series in Minneapolis.
Mark Prihodko plays an Antonio Sgarbi cello, made in 1894, generously loaned to him by Carlsen Cello Foundation.
