About DJ Jeremy Bastard

DJ / Producer Bio:

Jeremy Bastard is a New York City based producer, musician and DJ known for his disarmingly good looks and awful personality.

As an insufferable teenager, Jeremy wasted his time playing in various goth and industrial bands in northern New Jersey which led mainly to an almost nonstop onslaught of bullying and harassment by the local lacrosse team and several other amateur and professional sporting organizations. In perhaps the most famous referendum in history, Jeremy was asked by the local government in accordance with the people’s wishes to move out of New Jersey, and not return until he’d had ample time to re-examine all of his life choices.

With an almost audibly profound sigh of relief from said indigenous population, Jeremy relocated to New York City, where he again wasted most of his time asking all of the different club promoters for drink tickets at New York’s various goth, new wave, and industrial clubs.

A few years later, it became apparent that Jeremy was in no financial position to pay either the entrance cover or his bar tab. When faced with the options of employment or incarceration, Jeremy reluctantly chose employment and started DJing because the DJ who was booked for that evening had been diagnosed with a debilitatingly infected body piercing which was so severe and painful that it was passionately written about in several of the most prestigious medical journals. Critics hailed these articles as literary achievements in their own right.

Over the next few years, the club was forced by the local and federal government to close down as mandated by the health department, but Jeremy was not informed about their (clearly extremely wise) decision.

As it happens, this was on a Friday night, and on the following Saturday morning when Jeremy awoke on the floor of the beer soaked DJ booth (as was his custom) the club had changed ownership and DJs were NOW expected to play “dance” music so that the clubs patrons could dance around a bit. This was a revolution in the nightlife world! Nobody had played dance music before, and nobody has since!

As a result, Jeremy had to quickly start making dance music using his laptop and some free software so he would have something to play to the people who were inexplicably standing around in a dark silent nightclub and becoming increasingly more hostile.

What you hear is the fruits of his labor.

Jeremy, between all of that, also played in Unto Ashes, and is a founding member of the NYC psychedelic darkwave band, Autodrone who are extremely popular if you ask a very small number of people.

Jeremy is represented by PMAM agency and can be booked via reach@pmamagency.com
