It's been more than 13 years since I enjoyed the spectacle that is a Superheist gig. I was never even sure if there would be such thing as a Heist gig ever again. And yet, all these years later, not only did we get more shows, but we got a new album! Both of which are very much something to be excited about! They're back, and by god, they're back in HUGE form! Earlier this week I finally got my mitts on the new album Ghosts Of The Social Dead, and though it's taken some getting used to hearing a slightly new flavour of Heist, and getting used to hearing Zeke's unique brand of vocals combined with Richie's grindy 7 string and Drew's growly 5 and 6 strings, it's still very much got that signature Superheist sound. And after having it literally on repeat for the past 3 days has seen this album very quickly grow on me, and become planted in my heart amongst the other great Heist releases of yester-year.Tonight they tore the roof off the Factory Theatre! Never before have I been at a gig with so much energy, so much excitement and anticipation.. And so much fun! I've been to some incredible gigs and concerts over the past 23 years. I've see fire and explosions and all sorts of pyro-shenanigans, I've seen Metal Gods who've been doing it for over 4 decades, I've seen a 12-foot-tall animatronic effigy pretend to play guitar.. I've been to some intimate and up close gigs, and packed stadiums. I've seen Australian greats, and Australia's up-and-coming.. For me, Superheist marked the beginning of a long and amazing gigging adventure. So it seems fitting that the FUNNEST gig I've ever attended, and been front and center for would be a Superheist gig. Don't call it a 'Come Back' tour.. call it a We're Back Bitches and We Are Bringing The MFing Noise!' tour...The Aussie music scene is alive and kicking! And it just got one if it's biggest names back on the roster! For those of you who did not/could not/can not make it to one of their shows this time round, do yourself a favour and get to their next one!!! Early next year they're heading out again, and they're covering some serious miles!Hats off to you Superheist, and welcome back! Boy have we missed you!

About Superheist
Superheist is an Australian post-grunge/hard rock band, formed in 1993 in Melbourne by guitarist DW Norton. An early line-up featuring Norton, Rod McLeod (vocals), Anthony Donath (bass) and Sean Pentecost (drums) started out playing grindcore along similar lines to Napalm Death but by 1996 Superheist was established as one of Australia's first successful nu-metal bands.
The band's two full length albums, The Prize Recruit (2001) and Identical Remote Controlled Reactions (2002) charted in the Top 20 on the Australian Albums Charts. Five of the band's single releases also made the Top 40. Seemingly at the top of their game, the band disappeared from view for six months at the end of 2003 before announcing a split early 2004, with Norton forming a new band called Walk The Earth.
In late 2005, Norton announced via a forum on the band's official website that he was working on new Superheist material with bass player Drew Dedman and drummer Matt Skitz.
