Dygitals

L'histoire de DYGITALS débute en février 1984. A cette époque, Khalid, guitariste, parcourt les petites annonces à la recherche d'un groupe. C'est après une audition qu'il intègre EUNECT, un groupe formé de Pascal (basse), Hervé (chant) et Laurent "Bacou" (batterie). Comme dans tous les jeunes groupes, certains changements de line up ne tardent pas à se faire sentir. Ainsi, Laurent et Pascal quittent le groupe, qui décide de suivre sa route sous le nom de DYGITALS. C'est peu après qu'Alain intègre le groupe au poste de batteur, et Gérard celui de bassiste. Toujours à la recherche d'un second guitariste, c'est enfin en juillet 1984 que David entre dans le groupe à ce poste, définissant ainsi une formation enfin stable. En Octobre 1984, le groupe donne son premier concert à Tremblay-les-Gonesses, en première partie du groupe DEMON EYES. En Novembre 1984, après plusieurs mois de répétitions, le groupe décide de concrétiser son travail par l'enregistrement d'une première maquette en 16 pistes. Cette dernière comportera deux morceaux ("La Malédiction" et "Coupable"). Fort de cette expérience en studio, le groupe revoit son répertoire et le complète par de nouvelles compositions personnelles. Conscient des imperfections de la première bande, il décide de réitérer, en janvier 1985, afin de produire une démo 4 titres sur laquelle figure : "Avé César", "Sacrifice", "Superstar" et "Illusion". DYGITALS évolue dans un style très Heavy, influencé par des groupes comme IRON MAIDEN, ACCEPT etc... En Mai 1985, après plusieurs concerts, DYGITALS part en Belgique pour enregistrer deux titres ("Avé César" et "She´s OK") au studio PYRAMIDES. Ces derniers apparaîtront sur la compilation HMP "French Connection" (Madrigal Records). qui, avaient décidé de donner un petit coup de main à ces groupes (et qui espéraient que cette compilation serait la première d'une longue série). En Juin 1985, DYGITALS joue au Festival de Tremblay-les-Gonesse, avec BLASPHEME et ATTENTAT ROCK, devant 1 500 personnes. Le groupe joue également à la grande fête du France Festival, qui se déroule à Choisy le Roi en Juillet 1985. En fin d'année 1985, le guitariste Khalid Karbichi quitte le groupe. DYGITALS décide alors de poursuivre sa route avec un seul guitariste. En début d'année 1986, une nouvelle maquette est enregistrée. Elle contient 3 nouveaux titres chantés en anglais. DYGITALS joue fréquemment en région parisienne et dans de nombreuses villes de France telles que Lyon, Tours, Chambery, Vichy... Durant l'été 1986, ils se produisent au Sun Festival, qui a lieu dans les arènes de Bayonne, avec, en tête d'affiche, le groupe américain JOSHUA. Cette année là, DYGITALS est classé dans le Référendum d'ENFER MAGAZINE parmi les 10 meilleurs espoirs français alors que, contrairement aux autres groupes nominés, il n´a aucun album à son actif. Gérard Robin quitte DYGITALS en début d'année 1987. Laurent Bigot le remplace à la basse. Plusieurs concerts suivent son arrivée (Grenoble, Paris, Lille etc...). Xavier Vasseur rejoint le gang aux claviers en 1987. Il le quittera en 1988 après plusieurs concerts... La musique de DYGITALS est à cette époque beaucoup plus orientée vers un Hard Américain, influencée par BON JOVI, DEF LEPPARD, RATT etc... DYGITALS alterne les concerts et les séances studio (MAYA, COULEURS et MARCADET) de Septembre 1987 à Avril 1988. Leur premier album "Love Games", sera enregistré et mixé, mais il ne sera jamais distribué. Ensuite, durant l'été 1988, les membres de DYGITALS partent à Los Angeles pour une série de concerts dans plusieurs clubs dont le GAZZARRI´S et le WHISKY A GOGO. De retour en France en début d'année 1989, DYGITALS, reprend les concerts dans l´hexagone, au GIBUS à Paris ou à Tours. Il enregistre également une nouvelle maquette. Finalement, en fin d'année 1990, les membres de DYGITALS décident de se séparer, sans avoir jamais sorti d'album, malgré un professionnalisme évident... En 1998, "Stars of life", l'un des morceaux de l'album enregistré en 1987, est sélectionné pour figurer sur la compilation "Révolution Hard Rock"(Axe Killer Records), regroupant les figures emblématiques du Hard-Rock des années 80. 2000 : Une séparation (musicale) de 6 ans a permis aux différents membres du groupe de s'affirmer chacun de leur côté. Forts de leurs expériences, Hervé et David écrivent et enregistrent 19 nouvelles compositions. 2002 : "First Lap", un instrumental de David, apparaît sur la compilation "Guitare Attitude Vol.2" (XIIIbis Records). En 2009 Hervé et Alain décident de reformer DYGITALS. David se joint à eux pour réssuciter le gang. Xavier fait également partie de l’aventure et un nouveau membre arrive en la personne de Jack Gayffier à la basse. Après quelques mois de répétitions, le groupe donne un concert privé en mai 2010. Le concert est filmé et devant l'enthousiasme général décide de continuer l'aventure. Dygitals enregistre 12 titres de Aout à novembre 2011. Arrivée de REg Augaudy en novembre 2011 qui remplace Xavier Vasseur. Dygitals enchaine avec un concert remarqué au Paris Metal France Festival IV au Divan du Monde en janvier 2012, puis au Pacific Rock de cergy. Sortie de l’album “Avé ...” chez Brennus Music en octobre 2012. Dygitals est également à l’affiche de l’ultime PMFF V en janvier 2013. --------------------------------------- The story of DYGITALS began in February, 1984, when guitar player Khalid decided to look through the classified ads for musicians to join him a band. After one rehearsal, he joined EUNECT, a band formed by Pascal (bass guitar), Hervé (vocals)) and Laurent "Bacou" (drums). The young band had to face its first line-up change when Laurent and Pascal left. The rest of them decided to carry on as DYGITALS. Later, Alain (drums) and Gérard (bass) joined Dygitals. The band was still missing a second guitarist until David's arrival in July, 1984 thus ensuring a stable line up. In October, 1984, the band gave their first concert in Tremblay-les-Gonesses, opening for rock band DEMON EYES. In November, 1984, after several months of rehearsals, Dygitals decided to record their first 16-track demo which included two songs "La malédiction" and "Coupable". Following this first studio experience , the band started to write new songs. Keen to improve their studio sound, DYGITALS decided, in January, 1985, to produce a 4-song demo featuring the titles "Avé César", "Sacrifice", "Superstar" and "Illusion". DYGITALS played in a very heavy style, influenced by bands like IRON MAIDEN, ACCEPT etc.... After several concerts, DYGITALS went to Belgium in May, 1985, to record two songs ("Avé César" and "She’s OK ") at the PYRAMIDES studio. Both titles would appear on the HMP "French Connection " compilation (Madrigal Records). In June, 1985, DYGITALS played at the Festival of Tremblay-les-Gonesse, with BLASPHEME and ATTENTAT ROCK, to an audience of 1,500. The band also played in the now renowned "The France Festival", in Choisy le Roi in July, 1985. By the end of 1985, guitarist Khalid Karbichi had left the band and DYGITALS decided to go on with one guitar player. In early 1986, the band recorded a new demo with three new songs, now in English. DYGITALS played many gigs in the Paris region and in other French cities including Lyon, Tours, Chambery, and Vichy. During the summer of 1986, DYGITALS played at the Sun Festival in the arenas of Bayonne, sharing the line-up with American band JOSHUA among others. The same year, DYGITALS were ranked among the 10 best new french bands in a poll organised by ENFER MAGAZINE. Unlike the other nominees, DYGITALS had no official release to their credit. In early 1987, Gérard Robin left DYGITALS and Laurent Bigot replaced him on bass. His arrival was followed by several concerts — in Grenoble, Paris, Lille and other towns and cities across France. Keyboard player Xavier Vasseur joined the gang in 1987 and left in 1988 after several more concerts ... DYGITALS' music evolved increasigly into a more US Heavy Metal style, influenced by BON JOVI, DEF LEPPARD, RATT and others ... From September, 1987 to April, 1988, DYGITALS alternately performed in concerts and studio sessions (MAYA, COLEURS and MARCADET) . Their first album "Love Games", was recorded and mixed, but was never released. Then, during the summer of 1988, the members of DYGITALS flew to Los Angeles for several gigs in clubs including GAZZARRI’S and the WHISKY A GOGO. Back in France in early 1989, DYGITALS were back in France, playing GIBUS in Paris and shows in the city of Tours. DYGITALS also recorded a new demo. Finally, in late 1990, despite an obvious professionalism, the members of DYGITALS decided to put an end to the adventure, still without having released an album, ... In 1998, "Stars of life", a song from the album the band recorded back in 1987, was selected to appear on the "Revolution Hard rock" compilation (Axe Killer Records), along with some of the most famous French Rock Bands of the 80s. 2000: A 6-year separation enabled each member of DYGITALS to work on different projects. Hervé and David wrote and recorded 19 new compositions. 2002: "First Lap", an instrumental by David, appeared on the " Guitar Attitude Vol 2 " compilation (XIIIbis Record). In 2009 Hervé and Alain decided to give DYGITALS another chance. David and Xavier are now back in the band on guitar, with new member Jack, on bass. After a few months of rehearsals, the band gave a private showcase in May, 2010. The concert was filmed and with the enthusiastic approval of the crowd, they decided to carry on the adventure. REg Augaudy joined the band in September 2011 as the second guitar player. The band played at the Paris Metal France Festival IV in Paris in January 2012. Few concerts later the band has recorded 13 and signed with Brennus-Music. The album “Ave ...” has been released in October 2012. Dygitals played also at the Paris Metal France Festival V in January 2013.
