About Comrade

Some six boys from Louisiana, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Texas, take a nod from Radiohead, Paul Simon, and Hope Sandoval in this deliciously short EP. Front man and lyricist, Jonny Clark, is a man of not-so-many words, as he waxes personal with his subtle sarcasm in “Sociao”(track 7) : “I am trying to get my own way/I’m making you see the perfect way I’ve found.”

Shy, wry, and stupid sarcasm be damned, Comrade can still make you think long and hard. Otherwise, you might be a little thrown off by the horns…the rigid Brian Eno imitations of the last rack…the wanna be Radiohead chord changes of “Make/Break…etc.

After all is said and done(all 61 minutes, 26 seconds), this EP is begging for a follow-up, full-length, bad-ass, Bedhead-watch-out!, shoegazing sing-along version of the best three chords and anglo-saxon falsetto the Old South ever produced.
