About Owen Danoff

From the first moment he picked up a guitar at age 10 and wrote his first song at the age of 15, Owen Danoff knew he wanted to be a songwriter and performer. After his debut performance at his mom’s neighborhood restaurant, he played small gigs around his hometown of Washington, DC, finding his voice and realizing he loved being on stage. Though his love was writing and performing, he attended Berklee College of Music for film scoring (inspired by John Williams) and bass. After graduating, Owen released his first full-length album, Twelve Stories, which was well-received by his growing fan base. Owen quickly began working on new music, releasing his single, “No Such Thing,” which won the American Songwriter Magazine Lyric Contest. While working on his next release, Owen got a call from the producers of NBC’s The Voice, inviting him to audition for coaches Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams, and Blake Shelton. Receiving the coveted “Four Chair Turn,” Owen ultimately chose to work with Adam Levine. Under Levine’s mentorship, Owen performed his way to the live shows and earned the distinction of being the first Voice contestant ever to play bass on the show. On The Voice, Owen had the opportunity to perform in many styles, which truly reflects his sensibilities as an artist. Although inspired by a variety of genres including folk, pop, and rock, and from artists across the charts, such as Green Day, Paul Simon, Ed Sheeran, and Johnny Cash, the thread that ties his music together and makes it authentically his own is his pairing of personal lyrics with melodies that love to get stuck in your head. Like a soundtrack to real life, Owen’s songs give words to moments that resonate with so many, while remaining honest and vulnerable. Following his experience on The Voice, Owen moved to Nashville, TN, a haven for all genres and home to some of the industry’s best writers and musicians - some of whom Owen has had the pleasure of writing and performing with. Two songs Owen wrote with CMT’s Nashville star, Charles Esten, have been released as part of Esten’s widely followed “Every Single Friday” series. Owen has also performed multiple times at the iconic Bluebird Café, by himself and on rounds with artists and writers such Gordon Kennedy (Change the World, Eric Clapton). Shortly after the move to Nashville, Owen released his most recent EP, “Love on Your Side,” named for the edgy folk/pop title track. This collection of songs is very close to Owen’s heart, full of stories about his own personal relationships. When he isn’t writing or recording, Owen is performing, bringing his songs to audiences all over the country. In addition to Nashville’s Bluebird Café, he has performed in other iconic venues, such as Hotel Café in LA, 9:30 Club in DC, and Eddie’s Attic in GA, as both the headliner and an opener for performers including Emmylou Harris and The Proclaimers. Currently, Owen is working on new music and looking forward to new projects ahead… stay tuned. musician and semi-professional human being. Team Adam on season 10 of NBC's The Voice! NY/DC/Milky Way
