Souvenir Season

Cologne-based dream pop duo SOUVENIR SEASON was founded in a solemn vinyl-and-cake ceremony by the musicians Sarah Elisabeth Wohlfahrt und Birger Philipp Nießen in December 2013. As it happened, the songs they had been writing during a particularly dreary November afternoon caused remarkable feedback at SoundCloud, and the decision to pursue it more professionally was made.
Within a year they produced their debut album “Into the Black” and released it on CD in December 2014, and a year later even on vinyl.
Since, they have played shows and festivals, e.g. c/o Pop and Cologne Music Week, DigitalAnalog and a Liveurope showcase at A38 Ship in Budapest. Live, Souvenir Season is complete with Michael Wilsberg on drums and Salih Gülhan on bass.

After a great festival summer in 2016 it got quiet around Souvenir Season: Behind the scenes a lot had to be tidied up, lives were turned around, new ideas collected, the recording studio was moved into Cologne City. During that time it was always certain that Souvenir Season was going to continue, just not yet.

Finally, in 2019, new songs were being written and produced, and Souvenir Season released their new EP “LEAP!” on 01-01-2020. Four tracks setting your imagination running wild with a movie that you want to stay for even during the end titles song.
