Sammy and Heather are passing thru a new and different understanding of musical extremes in multi-dimensional psychedelic explorations of sound with an emphasis on improvisation. Slow and more mature, the minimalist approach becomes heavy and intense. More with less. SOLAR MAXIMUM is Sammy and Heather to the max!
Based in the musically rich San Francisco bay area town of El Cerrito, Ca. (once home to CCR and Metallica) Sammy and Heather have been working on the opposite end of extreme as the very fast and very loud LEATHER PILLS since 1999, over the year’s sharing stages with Marky Ramone, D.I. and The Lewd to name a few.
In 2015 with the alignments just right, Sammy and Heather began a new batch of recording sessions as SOLAR MAXIMUM and the result is the forthcoming album called “Soundtrack Event I: Uranian Fire” to be released on the bands own label Music for closetLames, with the digital version being available on December 8, 2015 and the 12” vinyl version coming in the summer of 2016. The album is 7 moments (tracks) at 34 minutes. It was self recorded and produced by Sammy and then mastered by Matt Kelley in San Francisco, Ca. The vinyl version will come packaged in jackets designed and handprinted at MCLscreenworks.
Sammy Chong Salazar is a bassist, recording engineer and owner/operator at MCLscreenworks, a merch fulfillment company specializing in handprinted silk screen work. He is also a principal in the Oakland based music art collective known as Her Majesty TheE Spleen.
Heather S Salazar is an astrologer and co-owner at MCLscreenworks.
